What is it about?

TASTE (Transformative Approaches for Sustainable Food in Tourism) is a project funded by the European Commission. It aims to drive transformative change in the areas of sustainability, digitalisation, and/or resilience.

As part of its activities, TASTE offers the acceleration programme “Go Green, Get Digital, Be Resilient”, which provides support and funding for collaborative projects led by SMEs in the tourism and food sectors.

Who is eligible?

SMEs active in the tourism and/or food sectors, as well as their broader ecosystems, are invited to apply.

The following NACE codes are considered as tourism-related SMEs:

  • I5510 — Hotels and similar accommodation
  • I5520 — Holiday and short-stay accommodation
  • I5530 — Camping grounds, recreational vehicle parks, and trailer parks
  • I5610 — Restaurants and mobile food service activities
  • I5630 — Beverage serving activities
  • N79 — Travel agencies, tour operators, reservation services and related activities
  • R90 — Creative, arts and entertainment activities
  • R93 — Sports, amusement, and recreation activities

Companies not officially registered under these NACE codes may also be eligible if they can demonstrate direct, active involvement in the tourism sector.

What are the selection criteria?

1. Excellence and innovation
Does the project offer relevant and innovative solutions for sustainable, digital, or resilient transformation in the tourism sector?

2. Contribution to the objectives of TASTE and the EU
Does the project align with the goals of the TASTE programme and broader European priorities in sustainability, digitalisation, and resilience in tourism? At least two out of these three dimensions must be addressed.

3. Feasibility and growth potential
Is the project realistic and achievable? Can it be scaled or further developed in the future?

4. Replicability and transferability
Can the project be adapted or replicated in other regions or contexts to create broader impact?

5. Skills and commitment of the partners
Are the project partners qualified and committed? Is there a shared vision and capacity for collaboration?

6. Cost-effectiveness
Are resources being used efficiently to deliver measurable impact, with a clear budget and good value for money?

Are there cases of incompatibility?

Projects that will not be selected include:

  • Those that are not collaborative or not aligned with the values of sustainability, digitalisation, and resilience
