Are you looking for somewhere to set up your project? Do you need a space equipped with machinery so you can experiment, prototype, produce and innovate? Are you seeking a creative workspace? Brussels has various places that can accommodate your project, such as fablabs and coworking spaces.
Workspaces
As a creative entrepreneur, you might be looking to connect with others in a shared workspace. There are a number of options for hosting your project including business centres, third places and coworking spaces.
Business Centres
A business centre is an organisation that helps young companies to set up and to expand their activities. To do this, it not only provides office space and storage, it also offers a range of shared facilities such as secretarial services, meeting rooms, etc. (plug & play solution). Using a business centre does not therefore require any initial investment.
Several business centres in Brussels are specifically dedicated to creative entrepreneurs, including Pepibru, Dansaert, and La Lustrerie.
Third places
Third places such as Creative District, Pali Pali, Communa, Abeille Blanche and others offer production areas (offices, residency spaces) and performance spaces (multi-purpose halls, concert halls) for creative entrepreneurs and artists.
Furthermore, these spaces sometimes offer support and guidance.
Coworking spaces
Coworking spaces allow business owners to network without having to make much effort, as it is already an integrated concept. By bringing together entrepreneurs, coworkers automatically create relationships between each other. Collaboration with different personalities in the same space is conducive to connecting with different sectors and activities. A designer can easily engage with a consultant or a photographer, for example. The concept makes a valuable contribution to towards creating new opportunities and new cooperation relationships, while fostering entrepreneurship and creativity.

Fab Labs
Do you have an idea and want to create a prototype, model, object or artwork? If so, head to a Fab Lab! A Fab Lab is a manufacturing laboratory that provides users with digitally-controlled machines. You can find laser cutters, 3D printers, cutting plotters, textile machines and digital milling machines. These resources enable you to prototype your ideas, create furniture, bring all kinds of projects to life, explore artistic possibilities, etc.
There are several FabLabs in Brussels, including Fab Lab.

Artist Residencies
Several locations in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation host artists in residence. A directory of artist residencies is available on the culture.be website.
Spaces for temporary occupation
Do you have a temporary occupation project but no location yet? Do you have a project idea but still have many questions? Have you found the right location for your project, but need funding?
Transforming an industrial building into a laboratory for micro-economic activities, converting an old car garage into a socio-cultural space, or turning a disused hotel into a temporary shelter for refugees can be beneficial for both the owner and the project developer. It adds value to the neighbourhood, for its residents and the Brussels Region as a whole.
However, these projects raise many questions regarding legislation, the responsibilities of each party (owner, manager and occupant), organisation, etc.
The Guichet des Occupations Temporaires (Temporary Occupation Helpdesk) can help you by putting you in touch with owners offering available premises.
