Prepare your planning permit: examples of plans

The examples below only apply to applications not needing sign-off from an architect, such as installing a sun canopy, changes of use, changing window frames or erecting a sign.

You have three options

• Design the plans yourself.

• Ask for a copy from the planning department archives (click here to see how to obtain a copy of the plans, depending on your local commune) and rework these plans.

• Use a paid professional

Some examples

Here are some examples of plans created especially for you, to show you the types of plans to attach to your planning application. Please note: explanations are written in French.

Don't forget that plans must be drawn to a scale of 1/50^th (1m in reality => 2cm on your plan):

1. Plans for a change of use from retail business to “small restaurant business” on the ground floor and basement.

2. Plans for erecting a parallel sign and perpendicular sign on a classic Brussels façade broken by a commercial frontage.

3. Plans for installing an extractor fan chimney for a kitchen in a small restaurant business, fixed on the rear façade of a Brussels house.
