The Brussels Food Technology Association (Brufotec)' guides agri-food SMEs in food hygiene and safety and environmental management.
Services
The non-profit association Brufotec, created in 1997, aims to support Brussels companies in the agri-food sector. It is financed by the Brussels-Capital Region, which covers 50 to 80% of the cost of the services rendered.
The non-profit association BRUFOTEC advises agri-food SMEs:

in hygiene and food safety through:
- free advice (legislation, labelling, conservation, etc.)
- staff training in hygiene
- the implementation of Hygiene, HACCP, BRC, COMEOS, IFS, ISO 22000 audits or according to the requirements of sectoral guides.
- the implementation of hygienograms and air analyses
- the implementation of microbiological analyses and evaluations by the Best Before date on foodstuff
- the drafting of cleaning and disinfection plans
- the setting up of HACCP, BRC, COMEOS, IFS, ISO 22000 or a self-control system (with a view to validation or certification)
- the implementation of enterprise infrastructure audits with a view to applying for subsidies for works that conform with legal standards
- monitoring and personalised recommendations

in environmental management through:
- the implementation of environmental audits
- the search for sources of waste (water, energy, waste, etc.)
- the implementation of sampling and analyses of waste water
- the declaration of packaging (Val-I-Pac and Fost Plus)
- advice for the better management of packaging waste
