The Newton site, which is demarcated by rue Henri-Joseph Genesse, rue l'Ile Sainte-Hélène and boulevard Paepsem in Anderlecht, will offer premises dedicated to business thanks to a new 5,000 m² park for very small and micro-enterprises.
This micro-business park is a response from citydev.brussels (FR) to a high demand from very small enterprises in the artisanal sector. The contract for the construction of this park was recently awarded.
The project is comprised of the construction of 16 workshops, with a surface area between 141 m² and 175 m². These workshops present "low energy" performances and will be constructed using innovative and durable materials with a low environmental impact.
For this project, citydev.brussels has opted for a Design & Build contract, which consists of appointing a group simultaneously responsible for the design and execution of the works. This group includes a project manager who will oversee the design in terms of architecture, stability, special techniques, acoustics, safety, etc., and a contractor who will carry out the works.
This will be the first park in Brussels dedicated to artisanal or semi-industrial micro-enterprises. The total investment is around 3 million Euros.
After the inauguration of the Greenbiz park for start-ups in the circular economy and the upcoming Magellan park in Neder-Over-Hembeek or CityLine on the CERIA site in Anderlecht, we are seeing a rapid development in the premises on offer for SMEs and micro-enterprises. Citydev intends to resolve the issue of the lack of small premises in a market which, according to the Brussels public body, interests very few private investors.
